Simone Oppenheimer
Ninor and Didor were my best buddies till the age of eleven. Although they existed only in my mind, they were the most supportive of all my friends. The three of us had a ball. We played dress up; they were my teacher’s assistants, the secretaries of my law firm, and my dance instructors. Inseparable, we spent morning, afternoon, and nights together. I remember distinctly when the three of us lost touch. The scholastic demands of third grade simply did not afford me the time to reach out to them. Not to worry however, I have subsequently made new friends. Not quite as close, perhaps more critical, and certainly not as playful. The greatest gift that I got from my friendship with Ninor and Didor, which no “human” friend could possibly have imparted on me, has been the opportunity to fantasize and invent story.

Believing that my life’s passion laid in the arts I feverishly pursued a degree in theatre and drama. Upon my graduation from Syracuse University and with credentials which officially declared me a “BFA” in drama, I began interviewing at every NY production company expecting that they too recognized the relevance of my official certification. After getting my butt kicked and paying my dues for what seemed like an eternity, it occurred to me that business like the arts was essentially the same, but merely played out in different theatres. With this new found epiphany I began to pursue a position which allowed me to integrate both mediums. I started working for Chelsea Pictures where Campfire was formally stationed. Working in the same office, I was introduced to Campfire and quickly recognized the potential inherent in this new and creative medium. Luckily, I was afforded the opportunity to join the newly emancipated 62 White Team….
